Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2024

For one day only, our courses on digital accessibility will be available on a pay what you want basis. We are also donating 20% of the proceeds to Sense: an organisation that supports people who are deafblind. Start your journey into accessibility on the 16th of May!

GAAD

The purpose of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than One Billion people with disabilities/impairments. Last year, during GAAD 2023, we hosted an initiative where everyone could set their own price for a course. This year, we’re doing it again. Additionally, 20% of the proceeds from course sales during GAAD will go to Sense, an organisation dedicated to supporting people who are deafblind or who have complex abilities.

The A11Y Collective

The A11Y Collective is the e-learning platform for anyone who wants to learn more about web accessibility. We offer courses, which cover a wide range of topics related to digital accessibility, from web development and design to content creation and user experience. Besides our courses, we like to share our Accessibility knowledge on our blog. We also aim to spread awareness about the critical importance of accessibility. Through initiatives like our GAAD event, where participants could set their own price for courses, we strive to emphasize the inclusivity and accessibility of our offerings.

Sense

Logo Sense

Sense believes everyone should be able to take part in life, no matter their disability. We at The A11y Collective stand by this statement, therefore we would like to donate 20% of the proceeds of the sales during the GAAD “Pay what you like” initiative.

Sense helps thousands of people who are deafblind or who have complex disabilities to communicate, experience the world and fulfil their potential. Sense believes that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be left out of life. Supporting Sense means helping children who are deafblind learn how to communicate with their family. Or it could pay for someone with complex disabilities to take part in an exercise class, or learn a new skill.
